Carnival Cruise Lines - Pride Red Frog Pub
Barron Systems of Dallas, TX - AMX Programming and Commissioning
Clair Brothers - Speaker Manufacturer
Carnival Cruise Lines needed to transform an existing space into a performance-friendly venue and pub on the Carnival Pride. The Pride's pub is the fourth of its kind in a series of Red Frog Pubs across the Carnival fleet - so maintaining consistency and top quality was paramount.
Clair Solutions provided a turnkey audio, video, lighting, and control systems package for Carnival. This involved the installation of new sound reinforcement for the entire space including a live sound system consisting of Clair Brothers IRIS-II-P full range speakers, Clair Brothers CS12 subs, EV ZLX-12P speakers for stage monitoring, along with a Behringer X-32 Rack digital mixer. The live sound system is powered by a Lab.gruppen C Series 68:4.
The distributed audio system comprises JBL Control 47LPs and is driven by a Crown DriveCore Install Series amplifier. Processing for the entire audio system is provided by a BSS BLU DSP system.
A total of six NEC video displays were installed to provide digital signage, a brand identity platform, as well as a way to broadcast images simultaneously being taken by staff members carrying iPods. Both the audio and the video systems are controlled using an AMX control platform.
Stage lighting for the pub's performance area includes Martin Lighting Rush Pars and is controlled by an Interactive Technologies CueServer.
The Clair Solutions Difference
When working on a cruise ship dry dock, where the ship undergoes major renovations, you are often faced with a majority of limitations including space constraints, compressed schedules, and limited resources. The dry dock was also stationed on foreign soil, which presents its own set of complications. Clair Solutions was able to complete this installation in just two weeks, surmounting the dry dock limitations and keeping quality standards and attention to detail as a number one priority.
In addition to these challenges, we had to create a special layout for the distributed audio due to unforeseen mechanical interferences. The CS site supervisor was able to think on his feet and modify the original plan in order to accommodate the on-site restrictions and come up with a creative solution.
